Orinda Restaurant Tour

It was such a windy, chilly day for the event. I remember last year, it was a very warm, sunny day I was wearing a dress. Then this year, so cold to be out for 2-3 hours! Fortunately we were serving soup as a sample and I was so glad I was wearing sweaters.

The weather wasn’t the only difference. Last year I went as a customer to try all the food but this year I got to hand out some of my macarons samples at our café booth, which I’m so thankful for. They are so generous and kind! I baked 200 mini macarons, chocolate and raspberry flavors. I’m always interested in what people are looking for, or what they are not interested in. Initially I got so indecisive over the sample flavors because there were so many I wanted to bake and see…but it’s not realistic to do more than 2. It was a hard choice but I decided on chocolate and raspberry. Most people would go for chocolate, some will go raspberry. Had I decided to bake chai or rose-I’d probably not been able to give out all or will they try? Most people picked chocolate, just as I thought.

I was very hungry by the end of the evening, luckily we got to go around the tour-a huge plate of Indian food where they were promoting their restaurant that’s about to open next month. Delicious curry, chutney, dahl, samosas. So excited!
